Do You Need Recommendation Letters?

Rec letter policies have changed significantly. They're no longer universally required, but most sororities still accept them — and having them can only help. Here's what to know:

Each of the 26 NPC sororities sets its own policy on whether they accept recommendations, who can write them, and how they should be submitted. Most now use online forms rather than mailed packets. Your school's Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) may also have campus-specific guidelines.

Before you start, check two places:

1. Your school's Panhellenic/Greek Life website — search for "[Your School] Panhellenic recruitment" for campus-specific requirements.
    

2. The national headquarters website for each sorority on your campus — this is where alumnae will find the recommendation forms.
